At the 2026 Science and ICT Day Commemoration Ceremony, Professor Young Keun Kim of Korea University was awarded the Order of Science and Technology Merit(Ungbi Medal). Professor Kim was recognized for his achievements as a globally renowned scholar in magnetic materials, as well as for his 40 years of dedication to education and research. His accomplishments include leading major national R&D projects and contributing to technological innovation in Korea's materials industry through the development of spin-memory materials.
2026년 과학정보통신의 날 기념식에서 고려대학교 김영근 교수가 과학기술훈장(웅비장)을 수훈하였음. 과학기술훈장은 과학기술 발전에 이바지한 인물에게 수여되는 훈장이며, 김영근 교수는 자성재료 분야의 국제적 학자로서 40년간 교육과 연구에 헌신하며 대형 국책 과제 수행, 스핀 메모리 소재 개발 등 대한민국의 소재 기술 혁신에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 이번 훈장을 수훈함.
